Challenge
Ricoh is a global manufacturer of office automation solutions and one of the world’s leading innovators of office equipment. To capitalise on their sponsorship of the £113 million “Ricoh Arena” (the landmark Coventry City FC stadium), Ricoh and their UK subsidiary NRG Group required a branded environment that would make best use of the space available.
The challenge was to create an efficient and stimulating workspace combined with a permanent exhibition area for Ricoh and NRG to showcase their services.
Insight
The Ricoh and NRG management teams recognised the powerful impact that branding has in a physical environment, increasing sales, improving staff retention and recruitment, together with aligning culture, operations and organisation to a competitive advantage.
Through consideration of space planning, interior architecture, furniture specification, lighting design, technology services, graphics and catering provision, we developed a scheme designed for a more responsive and agile culture.
Solution
The scheme created for the Ricoh environment provides a successful balance of ‘private’ and ‘public’ space, without obvious barriers and with a layout designed to maximise flexible and fluid work patterns, as well as create a feeling of comfort and relaxation for staff.
Results
In addition to providing an effective solution to the brief, the project was completed on time and below budget, ensuring success with the management team at Ricoh.
